Agenda

1) Bell Ringer

2) Origins of Constitutional Principles and Rights
After meeting with other students assigned the same document to verify the contents regarding Principles and Rights, the students broke out into new groups consisting one member from each document. Students will teach the other members about their document.

3) English Heritage
After assigning textbooks, students will describe and give the importance of each item on the English Heritage chart in the Unit packet. (Finish for Homework)

Period 1
1) Why Study Civics?


2) Political Parties
With your neighbor, share the "K" and "W" of the political parties that you worked on last night. Perhaps the "W" could be answered by your partner?

3) Structure of American Government
Board notes to outline the structure of the American government that illustrates Separation of Powers and Federalism.

4) Origins of Constitutional Principles and Rights
Of the 5 excerpts included in The Packet, read your assigned document looking for evidence of the Principles and Rights found on the chart near the back of the packet. Annotate your document for such evidence. Once this was completed, students met with other members of the class with that were assigned the same document to discuss their findings.

Period 2
1) Assembly
Class attended a brief assembly regarding the Code of Student Conduct

2) Rules and Expectations
We quickly went over some of the rules and expectations for the class. View the PowerPoint below that corresponds the Period 1 Rules and Expectations and the Period 2 Rules and Expectations.


You must also complete each item on the sign off list for 1st Period or 2nd Period. Use the links below to accomplish each. If you need your WCPSS Google login, see me tomorrow. I will make time to give those out to anyone who needs it.
